- Therapy & Neurofeedback Services in Boise -

The struggles of the human condition have always captivated me. I believe humans are built to survive – even in the most grueling situations when hope feels lost or emptiness prevails. Perhaps we are forced to deal with things we cannot control or did not foresee. Sometimes surviving this means we adapt in ways that don’t serve us in the long run.  This is when we need someone to journey into and out of the darkness with us.  Peace and wholeness are your human rights. A supportive, encouraging, and restorative partnership is a means to that end. My relationship style works to support and develop your courage, while you create meaning and your own unique path.

I work with adults besieged with the grief, depression, anxiety, relationship troubles and confusion left from trauma or unsupportive environments during childhood. These life events can have a lasting effect on how we attach to others, understand ourselves and may leave the body and mind in survival mode.

Attachment theory, neuroscience and neurofeedback are my primary modalities for treatment. I also use Internal Family Systems, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, EMDR and mindfulness to inform our work together. This is deep and transformational work. It is hard. You are not alone. You can feel better, think better, and improve your relationships.

I offer clients a combination of psychotherapy and neurofeedback. Neurofeedback is a form of biofeedback that coaches the brain into more efficient functioning. When the brain functions better, we feel better. Clients report the following effects: decrease reactivity to triggers, "I respond now, not react," have the ability to "stay cool under pressure" and "not take things personally," ease in "seeing the bigger picture," increased patience with self and others, greater sense of self and personal boundaries, ability to say "no," increased ability to concentrate/complete tasks and greater self respect.

I received my Master’s in Social Work in 2011 from Boise State University and my Master’s in Educational Leadership from Virginia Tech in 1999. My professional career has spanned from college student development, through mental illness in children and adults, to homeless veterans and beyond. My studies have often centered on healing developmental trauma, relationships, open relationships, intimacy, parenting, sexuality, fertility, adoption and race.
